It’s OK to say No.

Happy Math & Music Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did. It was nice to spend time with our family and friends. So, I heard on the news last week that there are SIX less days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Just looking at our calendar for the month of December, I can already tell it’s going to be a crazy, busy and full month.   With this looming fact… I thought I would share this following thought that has been on my heart and in my thoughts as we roll into December… It’s OK to say No.

Fun Fact

“It’s only by saying ‘NO” that you can concentrate on the things that are really important.” – Steve Jobs

I thought this quote was the perfect quote for this week’s blog. And isn’t it so true? I’m guilty of over filling our calendar with activities and/or “opportunities” as I like to call them. I feel that, especially this time of year, it’s so easy to do this… and with SIX less days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I know this will for sure happen…if it hasn’t already.

Planning Time!

I’m sure most of you already know this… BUT just in case… I want us all to remember… It’s OK to say No to activities and opportunities. It isn’t the end of the world to say no. In fact, it can be freeing. I hope this will encourage you like it has me. It will be OK if we don’t get ALL the different Christmas activities done this year… The world will still continue to turn AND our family will be less stressed, and therefore happier, in the long run. I sometimes put the pressure on myself to have everything perfect and planned… but I am really trying this holiday season to slow down and not over plan every moment. Or at least that’s the goal! lol   Good luck this week! I hope you all have a wonderful week of saying “No.”
