Extension Activities: Pizza Guys!

Happy Math and Music Monday!

Have you heard? Last week was a very exciting week because we launched our 13th Math and Music Video and Activities! If you haven’t seen it already, it’s called Pizza Guys! This month’s video combines two of my favorite things… Pizza and Patterns! And now, it’s one of OUR NEW favorites! Trust me, this song will get stuck in your head! Lol I’m also super excited about this week’s blog and can’t wait to share with you our experiences doing the new Pizza Guys Video and Activities!

Fun Fact

“The patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.” – Plato

When doing the research for this week’s quote… this one really stuck out to me. Patterns are such an important mathematical concept and they can happen everywhere. This is the perfect concept to have as one of your “go-tos.” Finding patterns can happen in the line at the grocery store, driving in the car, or almost anywhere or with anything.

Ok – let’s get into this week’s FUN activities with the NEW Pizza Guys video! I’ve also included some fun extension activities. I know my girls LOVED them, and I loved them too! We’ll also continue our learning fun with patterns ALL this week, so be sure to follow us on our social channels (links below).

*Special Note: To access this new video you will need to have a login and password. Ok, let’s get on with this weeks activities! Check it out…

Step 1: If you haven’t already done so, go watch and do the new Pizza Guys Video and do the Activities. Take a look at us doing the activities.

Sister P and Sister K watching the NEW Pizza Guys Video.
Would you eat a pizza with garlic and jelly beans? lol
After watching the Pizza Guys video... it was time to get up and MOVE! We first moved to the music and "made" our pizzas. Then we divided the parts of the song. Sister P was "Who are we looking for?" and Sister K was "Call the Pizza Guys!" It was SO SO Fun!
We figured out there are 4 of each part!
Then it was time to get off the screen! First, we colored, cut and made the pattern of the song. Then we made some pattern pizzas!

Awesome! Wasn’t that so fun? I would love to hear how it went. Please be sure to share on our Facebook page (Ally Dog Depot) or tag me on Instagram @mathandmusicmommy.

Also, be sure to tag a friend you think would LOVE this activity too.

Step 2: Now that you have completed the activities for the Pizza Guys video, you’re ready to extend the learning fun! Ok – So I have to confess I LOVE this learning concept.   We can find patterns everywhere! Take a look at some of the ways we used patterns this week!

Sister K made a pattern with her shoes!
Sister P made a pattern with rain boots and umbrellas!
We also made our own pattern pizzas!

Step 3: Don’t forget to discuss with your children other places we might find patterns. Be sure to follow along this week on our Facebook and Instagram, because we will be going on an adventure to find all the places in our world that we can find or make patterns… We hope you will join in our fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

We hope you all have a wonderful Math and Music Monday or even a wonderful Math and Music WEEK!

Don’t forget to check out our Math and Music Videos to keep the learning going this week! As always, we would love to hear from you on how things are going!
