Extension Activities: Fast/Slow!

Happy Math and Music Monday!

Have you heard? Last week was a very exciting week! We launched our 11th Math and Music Video and Activities. If you haven’t seen it already, it’s called Fun with Fast & Slow! It is one of our NEW favorites! I’m also super excited about this week’s blog.   I can’t wait to share with you our experiences doing the new Fast/Slow Video and Activities!

Fun Fact

“A parent is a child’s first and longest serving teacher. That relationship cannot end when the child goes to school.” – Theodora Welch

This is a good one! This is something really on my mind right now. Our girls, right now, go to school only 2 days a week and then we homeschool them on the other days. I so love this time together and know we aren’t going to have this arrangement forever. It’s also so easy to think, “oh, they are going to school, we don’t need to ‘learn’ or ‘do outside learning at home’… they are getting it at school.” That’s why I picked this quote. It does matter what we do and we are their first teachers! So keep going!

Ok – let’s get into this week’s FUN activities with the NEW Fun with Fast & Slow video! I’ve also included some fun extension activities. I know my girls LOVED them, and I loved them too!

*Special Note: To access this new video you will need to have a login and password. If you are already a member, it’s as simple as clicking “login” and if you don’t have a password, please click on “Forgot Password” and it will send you an email. Then you should be able to reset your password and you will be good to go and able to login. Please feel free to email or message me if you have any trouble! I’m happy to help.

Step 1: If you haven’t already done so, go watch and do the new Fun with Fast & Slow Video and do the Activities. Take a look at us doing the activities.

First we watched the new video!
Then we got some wiggles out by moving slow and fast to the music!
We colored, cut out and made the pattern to match what we heard in the "Fast/Slow Activity Song!"
Then we colored fast like Connor and slow like Ally Dog!

Awesome! Wasn’t that so fun? I would love to hear how it went. Please be sure to share on our Facebook page (Ally Dog Depot) or tag me on Instagram @mathandmusicmommy.

Also, be sure to tag a friend you think would LOVE this activity too.

Step 2: Now that you have completed the activities for the Fast & Slow video, you’re ready to extend the learning fun! Ok – So I have to confess I LOVE this learning concept! I love it because it’s perfect for right now and the beautiful spring weather. Our girls LOVE to go outside and ride their bikes or scooters. Now they can apply this concept to this very activity. Check it out below…

We went outside and went FAST and SLOW on our scooters!
After watching Connor and Ally Dog paint, the girls really wanted to create their own drawings on a canvas!

Step 3: Discuss with your children other places we might find fast things and slow things. This week on our Facebook and Instagram, be sure to follow along because we will be going on an adventure to find all the places in our world that have fast things and slow things… We hope you will follow along in our fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

We hope you all have a wonderful Math and Music Monday or even a wonderful Math and Music WEEK!

Don’t forget to check out our Math and Music Videos to keep the learning going this week! As always, we would love to hear from you on how things are going! Be sure to follow us on Instagram @mathandmusicmommy and Facebook: Ally Dog Depot. Oh, and if you like what you see, please share with a friend!

Have a GREAT Math and Music Monday!
